2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals
Adopted by the United Nations in 2015, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a global roadmap to end poverty, protect our planet, and ensure peace and prosperity for all. The 2030 Agenda also seeks to safeguard the rights of future generations while addressing today’s needs.
Aware of its responsibility in achieving these global goals, Hacettepe University is committed to:
• Raising awareness within the university community,
• Integrating SDGs into its educational programs and research activities,
• Collaborating with authorities and stakeholders.
Institutional Commitment
Hacettepe University is one of the first universities in Türkiye to adopt the SDGs. With the establishment of the Sustainable Development Working Committee in 2019, the first step was taken toward integrating the SDGs into education, research, and community engagement.
On July 3, 2019, the University Senate officially pledged its commitment to the 2030 Agenda.
